No. 4 Top Story of 2012: Cedar Creek Grille Comes to La Place

Plans for a "simple, classic American grill" were finalized in the spring, opened in November.

Ricky Doody told the Beachwood planning commission in April he planned to open The Cedar Creek Grille Β by September.

While it was delayed until November, talk of the new restaurant took Beachwood by storm.

The restaurantΒ includes renovations and an expanded patio in the 6,200-square-foot space that housedΒ MelangeΒ until early this year.

Doody and his family have ownedΒ Lindey's Restaurant and Bar, an upscale new-American restaurant and bar in Columbus, for 30 years.Β

The restaurant opened for business on Nov. 7 but Doody andΒ his family have "no interest" in making the Cedar Creek Grille a chain.

"It's a great market. We know the market well," said Doody in April, who hails from Hunting Valley.

The menu is described as simple and fairly limited: grilled fish, ham and cheese sandwiches. They'll be open for dinner seven days a week and possibly weekend brunch.
