Ohio Communities Remember September 11, 2001
Cities and villages throughout the state honored the fallen with memorials and ceremonies.

BEACHWOOD, OH — It has been 17 years since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. On Tuesday, communities around Ohio took time to remember the more than 2,900 people that were killed that day.
Seventeen years ago, 2,974 people were killed in terrorist attacks on September 11. Three hundred and forty-three firefighters were killed on Sept. 11. Seventy-one police officers were killed when the World Trade Centers collapsed, according to the Officer Down Memorial Page.
New York City held a commemoration and memorial ceremony this morning. The families of the victims gathered at the site of the World Trade Center attacks. The names of each victim were read aloud. To see the ceremony, click here.
