Open Cognac, Accident Gets Man Arrested In Beachwood

The man sideswiped another vehicle on I-271 South, bringing officers to the scene. He had multiple open bottles of liquor in his car.

BEACHWOOD, OH - Cognac, that classy liquor, was found in the car of a man accused of drinking and driving. The man caused an accident on I-271 South, leading to his arrest. Read on for more information.

License Suspension, April 7 - Beachwood Police arrested an adult woman on Harvard Road for driving with a suspended license.

Marijuana Possession, April 7 - Officers stopped a driver for failing to yield while turning right on red on Chagrin Boulevard. Police also found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the driver's possession and cited him.

OVI, April 7 - A two-car crash on I-271 South near Harvard Road ended in arrest for one driver. Police say one driver sideswiped another's car, causing the accident. The driver of the offending vehicle had multiple open bottles of cognac in his car and was arrested for driving under the influence.

Runaway, April 7 - A 15-year-old ran away from his Beachwood home on Friday night. Police located the teenager and decided to have him evaluated at Rainbow Babies and Children.

Fraud, April 7 - Saks Fifth Avenue, 26100 Cedar Rd., reported a fraud on Friday. Police say a woman used a forged Ohio's driver license and stolen credit cards to purchase a Chanel handbag worth $3,300 from the store. The suspect was arrested at the scene.

Expired Plates, April 8 - Police stopped a car on Cedar Road for driving with expired license plates. The driver had a suspended license and a warrant in Macedonia and was arrested.

Shoplifting, April 8 - A woman was arrested for stealing $31.96 worth of merchandise from the H&M store at Beachwood Place Mall, 26300 Cedar Rd. Police also found the woman had marijuana in her possession.

OVI, April 9 - Officers stopped a man for speeding on Chagrin Boulevard. The man was determined to be under the influence and was arrested for driving while intoxicated. The man also had an open bottle of liquor in his car.
