Reckless Driver Hits Car, Flees Scene, Gets Arrested Anyways: Beachwood Police

The man caused a car accident on Cedar Road and then sped off. Police were able to track him down later.

BEACHWOOD, OH - Police dealt with a number of car-based crimes over the weekend. Most prominently they chased down a hit-skip offender that caused a two-car accident on Cedar Road and then fled the scene. He didn't get far before police snagged him. That and other incidents in this week's blotter.

Civil Matter, Jan. 20 - The Beachwood Hair Clinic, 3690 Orange Pl., reported that a man who was loaned store property was refusing to return the property. The man was contacted by police and agreed to return the property.

Suspended License, Jan. 20 - Police arrested a man for driving with a suspended license on Green Road.

Hit-Skip, Jan. 20 - Callers reported a two-car accident on Cedar Road going east. Police came to the scene and learned that the driver of the car that caused the accident had fled the scene. Officers were able to locate the offending vehicle as it cruised down Cedar Road and arrested the driver.

Warrant Served, Jan. 21 - Police arrested a woman who failed to appear in court for a driving with a suspended license charge. The woman was at a Get-Go Gas Station, 4951 Ridge Rd.

Suspended License, Jan. 21 - Police arrested a woman for driving with a suspended license. She was cruising along Cedar Road when police caught her.

Warrant Served, Jan. 21 - If you're a wanted man, don't drive recklessly through a suburb. Chances are you're going to get arrested. A man found that out the hard way on Saturday when police arrested him for with fake license plates and driving with a suspended license. Officers then discovered the man had multiple warrants out for his arrest.

Trespassing, Jan. 21 - A woman that has been barred from Beachwood Place Mall, 26300 Cedar Rd., was arrested after she came to the shopping complex, in violation of the court order.

Suspicion, Jan. 22 - An employee at the Fairfield Inn, 3750 Orange Pl., reported that he received a strange phone call.
