Shoplifter Resists Arrest, Flees Beachwood Mall

The suspect was one part of a shoplifting tandem that was busted on Saturday. The man's partner was arrested.

BEACHWOOD, OH — Police attempted to arrest a pair of shoplifters at Beachwood Place Mall on Saturday. One of the suspects resisted an officer trying to place him in custody and then ran from the mall. The suspect's partner was arrested.

Warrant Served, Sept. 15 — Officers at the Cuyahoga County Jail contacted Beachwood Police to let them know a man at the jail had an active warrant for his arrest in Beachwood. The man was transported to Beachwood Jail where he was processed.

Lost Property, Sept. 15 — A man at Beachwood Place Mall, 26300 Cedar Rd., lost his concealed carry permit identification card.

Shoplifting, Sept. 15 — Police arrested a woman accused of shoplifting at Beachwood Place Mall. She had stolen about $176 in merchandise from Victoria's Secret. A companion of the shoplifter was also arrested on an active warrant from Highland Heights.

Shoplifting, Sept. 15 — A woman was arrested for stealing $170 of merchandise from Sephora at Beachwood Place Mall.

Transported to Hospital, Sept. 15 — A woman at Homewood Suites, 25725 Central Parkway, was found unconscious. She was transported to the hospital. Police say she's also been charged with possession of marijuana.

Resisting an Office, Sept. 16 — Two men were stopped for shoplifting at Beachwood Place Mall. One of the suspects resisted the arresting officer and fled the scene. The other man was compliant and was arrested. The duo stole $179 of merchandise.

Trespassing, Sept. 16 — A family on Wimbeldon Road reported a man trespassing on their property. Police arrived and told the man he could not cut through the family's property and the man agreed to leave.

Shoplifting, Sept. 16 — Two women were arrested for shoplifting pants from Dillard's at Beachwood Place Mall. The pants are valued at $130.

Theft from Auto, Sept. 17 — About $45 in cash and loose change were stolen from inside a vehicle on Brentwood Road.

Operating a Vehicle Impaired, Sept. 17 — Police arrested a man for driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. The man also made an illegal U-turn and was improperly handling a firearm.
