Shoplifters Lie About Age, Get Busted In Beachwood
Police said the suspects had about $330 of merchandise on them when officers apprehended them.

BEACHWOOD, OH — Two men were attempting to elude loss prevention officers at Dillard's on Monday afternoon. An off-duty police officer working security at the store called the police and officers managed to apprehend both suspects.
One of the men reportedly lied about how old he was, police said. The man told officers he was under 18-years-old. That man was wanted on felony arrest warrants and was taken into custody, police noted.
Police recovered about $328 in stolen merchandise. Other notable incidents from the past week are below.

Marijuana Possession, July 2 — At about 2:30 a.m. on Monday, police pulled a car over near Richmond Road and I-271. Police said the woman had committed lane violations, prompting officers to stop her vehicle. The driver had marijuana in her possession, police said. She was cited for having weed and the lane offense.
Receiving Stolen Property, July 2 — Two more men were arrested for receiving stolen property at Dillard's on Monday. One of the men also had marijuana in his possession, police said. Officers recovered about $196 in stolen merchandise.

Driving in Marked Lanes, July 4 — Police stopped a woman on Community Drive after her car was seen drifting out of its lane. The woman had a suspended license, so her car was towed from the scene.
Improperly Handling a Firearm, July 4 — A man was arrested near Saks Fifth Avenue for having marijuana and improperly handling a gun that was in his car.
Theft by Deception, July 5 — Someone used a resident's Nordstrom Gift Card, without their knowledge or consent. The thief spent more than $578, the remaining balance on the card.
Grand Theft Auto, July 5 — A white Nissan Altima was stolen out of the parking lot of the Ahuja Medical Center on Thursday.
