Shoplifters Pilfer Thousands In Merchandise From Beachwood Mall
One shoplifter was caught with more than $4,600 in stolen items, according to police reports.

BEACHWOOD, OH — Thousands of dollars of merchandise were stolen from stores at Beachwood Place Mall this week. Nearly of the items were recovered by police when they tracked down and arrested the suspected shoplifters.

OVI, May 11 — Police stopped a car on Cedar Road, near the I-271 entrance, for a lane violation. The driver had marijuana in their possession and was found to be operating their vehicle impaired. The driver was arrested.

Warrant Served, May 11 — An inmate at the Cuyahoga County Jail was served a warrant by Beachwood Police over the phone.
Shoplifting, May 11 — A man was arrested after he was found with more than $4,600 of stolen merchandise at Beachwood Place Mall. The stolen goods were pilfered from Saks Fifth Avenue and Visionworks, according to police records.

Criminal Damaging, May 11 — Someone cut the exhaust on a man's 2007 Honda Element while it was on Science Park Drive. No parts were missing from the vehicle.
OVI, May 12 — Officers stopped a car for speeding on Fire Station Drive at about 3 a.m. on Saturday. The driver was recorded going 57 mph in a 35 mph zone. Officers determined the driverwas intoxicated and arrested him.
Warrant Served, May 12 — A woman's breakfast was interrupted by police on Saturday morning. The woman was at a Bob Evans in Mentor when officers arrived and arrested her on an active warrant through Beachwood. Officers from Beachwood would take custody of the woman later that day.
Shoplifting, May 12 — More than $1,500 of stolen merchandise from Nordstrom was found in the possession of a shoplifter stopped by police on Saturday afternoon. The shoplifter was on Geo Zeiger Drive when police caught up to him and took him into custody. The man also had an active felony warrant for his arrest out of Portage County.
Shoplifting, May 12 — Staff at Dillard's reported that a man was shoplifting from the store. When police arrived, the suspect was getting into a car and driving toward I-271. Officers stopped the man before he got onto the highway. Nearly $300 of stolen merchandise was found in the man's car. The suspect had active warrants with Westlake, Fairlawn and Wickliffe police departments.
Rescue Squad, May 13 — An 18-year-old was rushed to a local hospital with suspected alcohol poisoning.
License Plate Theft, May 13 — Someone stole the license plate off a Montefiore Home employee's car, police reports said. The theft happened sometime between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Physical Control, May 13 — A woman was found asleep behind the wheel of her car at a local gas station at about 3 a.m. on Sunday. Police determined the woman was intoxicated and arrested her.
