Shoplifters Plague Beachwood Place Mall Over Weekend
Beachwood Police and mall security had a busy weekend keeping up with all of the attempted shoplifting.

BEACHWOOD, OH - Shoplifting was the in vogue crime of the weekend, as police and mall security had frequent meet-ups to exchange suspected shoplifters. Read on for more information.
Physical Control, March 31 - Beachwood Police arrested a man for physical control of his vehicle after he was sleeping in his car on East Groveland. Police say the man had been drinking.
License Suspension, March 31 - An adult male was stopped on Chagrin Boulevard for weaving between lanes. Police found the man had a suspended license for an OVI violation and the man was arrested.

Shoplifting, March 31 - Police arrested an adult male for shoplifting from Dillard's, 26500 Cedar Rd. He attempted to pilfer a shirt valued at nearly $100. When police arrested the man, they also found marijuana on his person.
Warrant Served, March 31 - Strongsville Police took custody of a woman wanted in Shaker Heights Municipal Court for Failure to Appear. Beachwood Police went out to Strongsville and brought the woman back to Beachwood.

License Suspension, April 1 - A woman was arrested after she was allegedly caught driving down Richmond Road with a suspended license. Police say the woman also has an active warrant out of Wickliffe.
OVI, April 1 - Police stopped a man for failing to drive in marked lanes on Shaker Boulevard. Officers found an open container of alcohol in his car and arrested the man for operating a vehicle under the influence.
Marijuana Possession, April 1 - Police took custody of a man at Dillard's for marijuana possession. Officers found 6.81 grams of marijuana on the man. In a moment of benevolence, the officer cited the man for possession and then released him. The marijuana was seized and placed in Beachwood Police evidence.
Shoplifting, April 1 - Two girls were detained at H&M for attempting to shoplift merchandise. The duo tried to steal a $6.99 headband from the store. The store decided not to pursue charges and the two juveniles were released to their parents.
Suspicion, April 1 - A Park East Healthcare family supervisor reported to police that a patient signed herself out on March 30 and had not returned to the facility.
Found Property, April 1 - A set of golf clubs was found in the Beachwood Service Yard.
Shoplifting, April 2 - Store security detained a man for attempting to shoplift at Dillard's. The man allegedly tried to get away with about $170 of merchandise. Police arrived, arrested the man, and transported him to Beachwood Jail.
Marijuana Possession, April 2 - Callers reported three men possibly smoking marijuana near the Deville Apartments North, 23351 Chagrin Blvd. After a brief investigation, one man was cited for marijuana possession by Beachwood Police.
