Solon Man Wins Jewish Federation of Cleveland Award
Jared Miller received the Bennett and Donna Yanowitz Leadership Award for his work in 2016.

SOLON, OH - The Jewish Federation of Cleveland awarded Jared Miller, of Solon, with the 2016 Bennett and Donna Yanowitz Leadership Award during its March 30 meeting. The award recognizes a young individual that has demonstrated commitment, involvement, and leadership within Cleveland’s Jewish community.
Miller's work in the Jewish community began when he volunteered for the Federation's Young Leadership Division (YLD). He became chair for the YLD's Campaign for Jewish Needs, the annual fundraiser for the Federation.
He later served as chair for the YLD's Ben-Gurion Society, which focuses on young adults that commit $1,000 or more to the Federation's campaign. He also previously co-chaired Super Sunday, the Federation's single largest fundraising day. Miller currently serves on the Federation's Board of Trustees and is on the Federation's Endowment Fund Committee.

Miller has also worked with the Jewish Education Center of Cleveland and Friends of the Israel Defense Forces. He is currently Board Chair for the Joseph & Florence Mandel Jewish Day School, which his three children attend.
“It’s humbling to be honored with this award,” Miller said in a statement. “My wife, Stephanie, and I try and do things before we are asked. If we see there’s a need or void, we’ll take action.”

The Bennett and Donna Yanowitz Leadership Award replaced the Marvin and Milton Kane Award. The Federation says the award has been given, in some form, since the 1960s. As a recipient of the Yanowitz Award, Miller is now invited to join the Cleveland delegation to a General Assembly of the Jewish Federations of North America.
“I will use this award as a motivator to do more to support Jewish education and the community as a whole,” Miller said.
