Squatters Refuse To Leave Beachwood Hotel, Evicted By Police
Plus, officers arrest a Nordstrom employee for stealing from a cash register...eight times.

BEACHWOOD, OH — Police were called in to evict two people from Home 2 Suites in Beachwood, after they refused to leave their room. One of the would-be squatters had a warrant for their arrest and was taken into custody, but the presence of police inspired the other to leave peacefully.

Theft from Building, June 11 — A Nordstrom employee was arrested after it was discovered they stole cash from a register on eight different occasions between May 25 and June 8.

Shoplifting, June 11 — Two women, both under 18-years-old, were arrested for shoplifting from Dilliard's.
Warrant Served, June 11 — Police stopped a woman in the parking lot of La Place on Monday. The woman had an active warrant with Lyndhurst Police, so she was arrested and turned over to that department.

Theft from Building, June 11 — Items worth more than $3,400 were stolen from Kirtland Capital Partners' business suite.
Threatening Phone Calls, June 11 — A doctor's office employee got threatening phone calls from their ex-girlfriend while at work. If the calls continue, police said charges will be filed.
Disturbance, June 12 — Two people refused to leave a room at Home 2 Suites, so management called police to evict them. One of the people in the room had a warrant for their arrest in Shaker Heights Municipal Court, so they were taken into custody. The other person left the room peacefully.
Found Property, June 12 — A person found a cell phone inside the Beachwood Post Office. He turned the phone into police for safekeeping.
Marijuana Possession, June 12 — Police stopped a car on Richmond Road for tinted windows and not using turn signals. The driver was cited for possession of marijuana and driving with a suspended license.
License Suspension, June 13 — Officers saw a car dragging a ratchet strip behind it on Chagrin Boulevard. After a short investigation, police found the driver had a suspended license, so he was cited.
Marijuana Possession, June 13 — Police investigated a suspicious car parked outside Saks Fifth Avenue. Two men inside the car were cited for possession of marijuana and the driver was cited for driving without a license.
Marijuana Possession, June 14 — A woman was cited on Cedar Road for speeding, possession of marijuana, and possession of an open container of alcohol in a car.
