Summer Brings Shoplifters To Beachwood
One incident saw a man steal approximately $1,300 of merchandise from Victoria's Secret at Beachwood Place Mall.

BEACHWOOD, OH — There's something about warm weather that seems to bring the shoplifters out of the woodwork in Beachwood. Police dealt with a bevy of incidents involving shoplifters this past week, including a man who reportedly got away with $1,300 of merchandise from Victoria's Secret at Beachwood Place Mall.

Shoplifting, July 10 — Loss prevention at Dillard's, 26500 Cedar Rd., detained a man and woman who were attempting to shoplift from the store. The man was arrested for theft. The woman was arrested for theft, receiving stolen property, criminal damaging, and criminal trespass. The value of the stolen merchandise was $65. The damaged merchandise that was recovered from the woman was worth $8.99.

Shoplifting, July 10 — Two juveniles were arrested for shoplifting from Dillard's.
Harassing Communication, July 10 — A man made repeated phone calls to First Federal Credit Control, 24700 Chagrin Blvd. Police contacted the man and told him to cease all contact with the business.

Warrant Served, July 11 — Beachwood Police picked up a man wanted on a Shaker Heights Municipal Court warrant. The man was being detained at Cleveland City Jail.
Disturbance, July 11 — Lifetime Fitness, 3850 Richmond Rd., reported a disturbance on its basketball court. Police arrived at the scene and four juveniles were removed from the property and banned from Lifetime Fitness.
Shoplifting, July 11 — Police were called to Dillard's for another shoplifter. This time an adult man was arrested for shoplifting a pair of underwear worth $21.60.
Criminal Trespassing, July 11 — A woman was arrested for trespassing at Nordstrom's, 26200 Cedar Rd. The woman also had marijuana in her possession.
Threatening Phone Calls, July 11 — Kingdom Academy, formerly Educare, has been receiving threatening phone calls. Police took a report on the matter.
Shoplifting, July 12 — A juvenile female was arrested for trying to steal a wallet from Aldo Shoes, 26300 Cedar Rd. The wallet is valued at $40. The girl was arrested and taken to the police department. She was then released to her mother.
Trespassing, July 12 — Juveniles have been jumping the fence at the Beachwood Family Aquatic Center, 25125 Fairmount Blvd. Police say this has been an ongoing problem at the outdoor pool.
Shoplifting, July 12 — Police were called to Victoria's Secret at Beachwood Place Mall, 26300 Cedar Rd., for reports of a shoplifter. An adult man reportedly stole $1,300 of merchandise. The suspect fled the store before police arrived.
Theft from Building, July 12 — A woman's wallet was stolen from her room at the Double Tree Hotel, 3663 Park East.
Harassment, July 13 — A woman reported that her daughter was harassed while attending Beachwood Teen Travel Camp at Beachwood High School.
