Suspect Briefly Escapes Police Custody In Beachwood

The suspect slipped out of Ahuja Medical Center while on medical leave. Her day on the lam was short-lived though.

BEACHWOOD, OH — For about 30 minutes on Tuesday, a woman was able to escape Beachwood Police custody. Her day on the lam didn't last long though.

The woman was on medical furlough at Ahuja Medical Center. She was somehow able to leave the facility without checking out or turning herself into police.

However, officers quickly tracked the woman down and charged her with escaping. Police records indicate the woman was on the lam for only 30 or so minutes.

Possession of Marijuana, July 9 — A man was arrested on Wimbeldon Road for trespassing. Officers found marijuana in his possession.

Found Property, July 9 — Someone found a passport near the Winking Lizard on Central Parkway. They turned the passport over to police for safe keeping.

Disorderly Conduct, July 10 — Officers arrested a juvenile at Beachwood Place Mall on Tuesday. The juvenile was allegedly causing a ruckus at the mall and then lied to police about his identity.

Lost Property, July 11 — A paper prescription mailed to a Beachwood resident never arrived at his home. Police are currently treating the missing item as lost property.

Indecent Exposure, July 11 — Police arrested a man for urinating in the parking lot of the Beachwood Place Mall on Wednesday. The man was caught urinating at about 1:40 p.m. The man also had an active warrant for his arrest with Cuyahoga County and the Adult Parole Authority.

Shoplifting, July 12 — A shoplifter was arrested at Saks Fifth Avenue on Thursday. Police said he was found with $464 of stolen merchandise in his possession.

Shoplifting, July 12 — A man stole $37 of steaks from Giant Eagle. He was caught and arrested, police said.
