Suspect Flees Beachwood Police, Crashes Car

BEACHWOOD, OH - Don't run from the police. One driver found that out the hard way when he crashed his car after trying to get away from pursuing officers. Read on for more information.

Rescue Squad, Jan. 23 - Police helped transport a nursing home patient who had fallen and suffered a cut to his head.

Disturbance, Jan. 23 - A woman entered a home on Halworth Road. The home's resident had previously taken out a Temporary Protection Order against the woman, but the TPO had been vacated prior to her arrival.

Warrant Served, Jan. 23 - Beachwood Police took a wanted suspect into custody and returned them to Beachwood Jail.

Falsification, Jan. 23 - Police tried to stop a car near Chagrin Boulevard and Green Road because it had an extremely loud muffler. However, instead of pulling over, the car sped off and crashed his car. Police took the male driver into custody and he has been charged with Falsification, Fleeing and Eluding, Mufflers, Suspended License, Stopping After Accident, and Warrant Served.

Altercation, Jan. 23 - Multiple female students were involved in a fight at Beachwood High School.

Warrant Served, Jan. 25 - Police stopped a car on I-271 South because the driver was using the car with a suspended license. Officers also discovered that the driver had an outstanding warrant in Solon.

Shoplifting, Jan. 25 - A man was arrested for stealing $149 from Microsoft, 26300 Cedar Rd.. Police also found stolen merchandise from Tommy Bahama, T-Mobile, and Lenscrafters.

Shoplifting, Jan. 25 - Someone stole $269 worth of merchandise from Marshall's, 24065 Chagrin Blvd.

Criminal Mischief, Jan. 26 - Someone unloaded a fire extinguisher on a Deville Apartments resident's car.
