Suspected Stolen Car Gets Stopped In Beachwood

The driver had an open container of alcohol and marijuana in his car.

BEACHWOOD, OH — Police made a series of marijuana-based arrests this week. Most notably, on Monday, officers spotted and stopped a vehicle that was believed to have been stolen. The driver explained the car wasn't stolen, the license plates were.

Theft from Auto, March 12 — A Cedar Road resident had two of her cars rifled through on Monday. Some property was missing from one of the cars.

Marijuana Possession, March 12 — Police stopped a car on Fairmount Boulevard because it had been entered as stolen by Columbus Police. Officers spoke with the driver and determined the car wasn't actually stolen, but the license plates were. The driver also had an open container of alcohol, marijuana and a digital scale in his car and was arrested.

Marijuana Possession, March 13 — A car was stopped on Cedar Road for inappropriately displayed license plates. The driver had marijuana and some drug paraphernalia in his car and was cited for both and released at the scene.

Damaged Property, March 13 — A man lost control of his car and damaged a stop sign on Chagrin Boulevard and Stratton Road.

Found Property, March 14 — A gun was found somewhere in the city of Beachwood and the woman who found it turned it over to police. The gun was actually stolen from a gun owner in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, according to police records.

Fraud, March 14 — A customer at Cleveland Yoga said an employee illegally used their credit card to make $10.75 of purchases.

Marijuana Possession, March 14 — Police stopped a car at Beachwood Place Mall. The driver was cited for having an open container of alcohol and marijuana in his possession.

Theft, March 15 — Someone stole a man's cell phone while he was in the bathroom at Metro Medical.
