Trash Can Thief In Beachwood? One Resident Thinks So

A woman's city-owned trash cans were blown over during a wind storm. The cans went missing later, and the woman suspects a thief.

BEACHWOOD, OH - Trash cans are not common targets of theft, but at least one resident believes her trash cans were snatched up after a wind storm blew them out of her yard. Read on for more information.

Warrant Served, March 13 - Strongsville Police took custody of a woman who is wanted for failure to appear in Shaker Heights Municipal Court. Beachwood Police went to Strongsville and took custody of the woman.

Lost Property, March 13 - A Beachwood resident reported that two city-owned garbage cans are missing.

Theft from Yards, March 14 - A resident on Bridgeton Drive reported that her city-owned trash can blew away during the high winds. She believes that after the trash can left her yard, someone snatched it up. The trash can is valued at approximately $50.

Trespassing, March 14 - Staff at Beachwood Place Mall, 26300 Cedar Rd., detained a man on suspicion of trespassing and shoplifting. The man was banned from the mall and police escorted him off of the premises.

Theft from Building, March 14 - An employee at Beachwood Place Mall allegedly stole a cell phone that had been dropped at the mall by a patron.

Shoplifting, March 14 - Police arrested a juvenile male for stealing $66.75 worth of merchandise from the Dillard's at Beachwood Place Mall.

Damage, March 14 - A woman reported that salt spread by a snow plow damaged her car.

Theft of Identity, March 15 - A Beachwood resident reported that someone stole his identity and used it to open a Time Warner account and rack up $287 in charges.

Expired Plates, March 15 - Police stopped a car on George Zeiger Drive for operating with expired license plates. The driver had a felony warrant out of Summit County and was arrested.

Shoplifting, March 15 - An adult woman was arrested after she stole four items from Sephora at Beachwood Place Mall. The items were valued at $123.

Warrant Served, March 16 - Beachwood Police went to Cuyahoga County Jail to take custody of a man wanted on a misdemeanor charge in Shaker Heights Municipal Court.

Theft of Motor Vehicle, March 16 - Hertz Rental Car Services reported that one of its rental cars was stolen from the Double Tree Hotel, 3663 Park East.
