Two Cars Broken Into In Beachwood; Purses, Property Stolen

More than $1,200 of property were stolen from cars parked at local gyms and restaurants.

BEACHWOOD, OH — Police are looking into a pair of thefts that saw someone break into cars and steal property and purses. More than $1,200 was stolen from vehicles parked at local businesses. Read more about those incidents, and others from the weekend, below.

Warrant Served, April 27 — A driver on Cedar Road was stopped for using their cell phone while driving. Police discovered the driver had an active warrant with the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office, so the driver was taken into custody.

Disturbance, April 27 — A man was escorted off the Montefiore Home property after his behavior alienated staff. The man then trespassed and returned to the property, leading to police escorting the man off.

Theft from Building, April 27 — A woman said her H&M bag, with about $18 of clothing inside it, was either lost or stolen while she was still in Beachwood Place Mall.

Warrant Served, April 27 — Police spotted a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot outside of Saks Fifth Avenue. Officers ended up arresting a man on outstanding warrant.

Theft — License Plate, April 28 — Police arrested a woman at Beachwood Place Mall for stealing a license plate off a car.

License Suspension, April 28 — A man was arrested for driving with a suspended license.

Theft, April 29 — Someone broke into a woman's car while it was parked at Orange Theory, 2101 Richmond Road. The woman said that about $1,200 of property was taken from her vehicle.

Expired License Plates, April 29 — A driver was stopped for speeding near Beachwood Place Mall. The license plates on the driver's car were expired and the driver had an active warrant for his arrest with the Garfield Heights Police Department. The man was arrested and to had to pay a traffic bond in Beachwood.

Theft, April 29 — A car at Moxie Restaurant was broken into and a purse was stolen.
