Video: Beachwood High School ASL Club Holiday Party
Hearing and hearing-impaired revelers enjoy signs of the holidays
For seven years, members of the BHS American Sign Language club have practiced the language by throwing an inter-generational party. The guests are members of the area's deaf and hearing-impaired community.
While adults snacked on pizza, popcorn and pop, the children watched movies, and posed with Ronald McDonald and Minnie Mouse. This year, more than 400 people came to the party in the high school's South Gym. ASL club chairman Olivia Mayfield said the events was the largest the club had ever organized.
