"Wear Reflective Vests" City Asks Beachwood Residents

Winter is coming and the city wants visitors and residents to the city to start wearing reflective gear.

BEACHWOOD, OH — Anyone planning on walking or cycling through Beachwood is being asked by city officials to don reflective gear, particularly as winter approaches. In a blog post on the city website, pedestrians were also asked to use the sidewalks whenever possible.

"Your safety is one of our primary concerns, so we are asking that you please add reflective items – vests, bands, belts, and similar items – to your clothing when walking in the early morning and evenings," the city said on its website.

The city also said the Service Department will make every effort to keep sidewalks clear of snow and ice during harsh winter storms.
