Week in Sports: Track Faring Well; Ball Games Rained Out
Bison boys and girls on track at relay events

TRACK AND FIELD
Beachwood's boys' and girls' track and field teams traveled to the Pymatuning Valley Laker Relays yesterday with the Lady Bison taking a runner-up finish while the boys placed third overall.
Olivia Mayfield continued her standout season for the girls as she was second in the long jump (15-5.75) and third in the high jump (4-8). Arielle Ginsberg added a second place finish in the 400 meters (1:04.43), Gabrille Perryman was third in the 200 meters (27.12) Julia Friedman was third in the 3200 meters (13:48.82). Beachwood won the 4x800 meter relay with the team of Chenyu Zhang, Rena Andrews, Friedman and Ginsberg (11:04.56) and was second in both the 4x100 meter relay with Perryman, Mayfield, Traci Mlliner and Kyndal Wilson (52.19) and the 4x200 meter relay with Perryman, Richardson, Ginsberg and Wilson (1:52.61). The Lady Bison also got a third place from the 4x400 meter relay of Zhang, Perryman, Richardson and Ginsberg (4:34.27).

Isidro Cora won the discus competition for the boys with a toss of 129-8 while teammate Marzel Atkins was second (126-0). Mark Blackwell captured the top spot in the 110 meter high hurdles (16.04) while Ari Sobel chipped in with a third place in the pole vault (9-0). Beachwood added runner-up finishes in the 4x200 meter relay with Blackwell, Jason Edwards, Chris Lardie and Virdell Robinson (1:34.88) and the 4x100 meter relay with Sobel, Lardie, Edwards and Robinson (45.45).
The Lady Bison won the weather-delayed Chanel Moose Relays earlier in the week as Mayfield and Perryman teamed up to win the long jump relay (30-10). Beachwood also finished first in the 4x400 meter relay with Richardson, Zhang, Sullins and Ginsberg (4:38.2) and the sprint medley relay with Milliner, Mayfield, Wilson and Ginsberg (2:00.17).

The boys were third at Chanel. Cora and Atkins again joined forces to bring home a first place in the discus relay (250-5).
Beachwood travels to Gilmour Tuesday and will compete in the Cortland Lakeview Invitational Saturday.
TENNIS
The Bison netters dropped a 3-2 decision to Nordonia this week. Bison winners were Ellis Cohen (6-2, 6-2) and the doubles duo of Jacob Tepper and Dillon Heiser (6-1, 6-3).
Beachwood is scheduled to play at Cleveland Heights Tuesday before hosting Orange Wednesday and traveling to Chagrin Falls Wednesday.
BASEBALL
The Bison had all of this week's games washed out due to the weather. The team is slated to play Cuyahoga Heights tomorrow (home) and Tuesday (away), Wickliffe Wednesday (away) and Friday (home) and host John Marshall for a double header Saturday.
SOFTBALL
The weather also rained out the softball schedule this week. The Lady Bison are scheduled to play Cuyahoga Heights Monday (away) and Tuesday (home), Wickliffe Wednesday (home), at JFK Friday and host a Saturday doubleheader with Normandy.
