• Fire at senior apartments in Belmont County forces more than 30 residents to be evacuated (wtrf.com) — More than 30 residents were evacuated from the Carnes Center Senior Apartments in Bellaire after a fourth-floor fire sent heavy smoke and heat through the building. Sprinklers contained the flames but caused water damage, and many disabled residents needed help from multiple area fire departments. The Red Cross is arranging temporary housing while investigators determine the cause.
   

• Ferry Fund Receives $60,000 Boost Toward New Towboat (tylerstarnews.com) — Work on the Sistersville ferry's new towboat will take place at Bellaire Harbour Services, where the vessel will be outfitted and stored until cross-river service resumes in May 2027. The project, boosted by $60,000 in state donations, brings specialized marine work and some economic activity directly to Bellaire while helping restore a long-standing Ohio River connection.
