A Bathroom Break Gone Wrong: Brecksville Police Blotter

The following incidents were reported by the from March 27 to March 28. The information was compiled from police reports.

An exit ramp is probably not the best place to pull over
Police checked on a call about a possible disabled vehicle at 10:19 p.m. on March 27. When police got to the Miller Road exit ramp off of Interstate 77, the officer found the car empty, save for an empty bottle of rum in the back seat. The driver’s door was open and the van was still running.

Police found the driver on the other side of the guardrail, crawling up the hill. The 70-year-old Cleveland Heights man said he had pulled over to go to the bathroom and had lost his balance. He wasn’t injured, but he was intoxicated. He later threw up. The driver was charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated and for the open container.

Traffic stop leads to discovery of a drug-related warrant
Police pulled over a car with no rear license plate lights on Interstate 77 at 11:34 p.m. on March 28. The driver, a 51-year-old South Euclid man, said he was from Mississippi and headed to the Cleveland area to take care of his sick aunt. Police ran his license, learning that it was suspended in Ohio. Police also learned that the man had a warrant from Columbus, Mississippi, for failing to appear on a cocaine possession charge. The Brecksville Police Department charged him with driving under suspension and for not having rear lights. Columbus, Mississippi, Lowndes County, planned to pick the man up on its warrant.
