The sound gave it away
The sound of a car driving over rumble strips on Interstate 77 alerted police to a possible drunk driver at 2:36 a.m. on March 25. The beer cans on the floor of the truck and the case in the back probably didn’t help either.
The driver, a 26-year-old Brecksville man, refused to do any field sobriety tests or take a breath test. He was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence and with driving in marked lanes.
It might look like a regular cigarette …
An officer pulled over a car for weaving on Brecksville Road at 12:49 a.m. on March 24. The driver, an 18-year-old Brecksville man, told the officer he was reaching for his phone, but he had bigger problems—the officer could smell marijuana. The driver said there weren’t any drugs in the car, but police searched and found a cigarette box with a pipe designed to look like a cigarette inside. There was also a small bag of marijuana in the box. The driver was cited for failing to stay inside the lane and for possession of marijuana.
