The officer could smell marijuana, and a passenger said that they had smoked it earlier. The officer asked the driver to step out of the car and frisked him for weapons or contraband, finding a bag in his pocket. The driver said it was marijuana, but when the officer opened the bag, there was a small pink tablet inside.
Officers then searched the car, finding a bag with marijuana in a cup holder, a marijuana blunt in the back seat and a bottle of alcohol under the front seat. The pill was tested, and was found to be an amphetamine. The driver, Byron L. Ridenour-Wright, was charged with possession of amphetamine, a fifth-degree felony. He was also charged with possession of marijuana, driving under suspension and speeding. The passengers were released.
