Brecksville, OH -- Cuyahoga Valley Career Center’s (CVCC) Career Development Department is delighted to announce that several scholarships will be awarded to girls in grades 6, 7, and 8 who would like to attend technology-related summer camps. The scholarships are provided by Tech Corps, an organization that connects technology, learning and the community. Tech Corps’ mission is to ensure that all K-12 students have equal access to the technology skills, programs and resources necessary to enrich their education today and prepare them to successfully compete in the information-based, technology-driven marketplace.
Two technology camps will be offered and will run from June 24 to 28, 2013, from 8:00 to 2:00. One camp will focus on Programming, using Alice, a 3D programming environment. Students will learn the basic concepts of programming through the creation of video games and interactive stories. The second camp will focus on Web Development, providing fun and engaging experiences with web authoring and media software. Students will learn how to create their own web pages with different media.
