STNA’s Ingenuity APP-ropos; Wins December Award

STNA Jackqueline Williams, who works the 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. shift on The Village at Marymount's Continuing Care Unit, found a translation app for her cellphone that enabled her to communicate with the late Maria Georgalis, a Villa St. Joseph resident who spoke Greek.

Williams' ingenuity paid off as she was named winner of the December 2012 Franciscan Spirit Award. Williams' nominators felt that her efforts to communicate with Mrs. Georgalis embodied the true spirit of the award.

“I was really surprised that I won,” Jackie said. “Mrs. Georgalis was my friend. I really liked her.”
