Student from Brecksville Named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar

The Big Ten Conference announced its Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Awards for the 2010-2011 school year earlier this month. According to a press release from the conference, more than 500 student-athletes were selected as honorees. 

According to the release, students must be letter-winners at their school, who have a 3.7 grade point average or above. 

There was one student from Brecksville on the list this year. That was Katie Beck, who attends Purdue University and competes in women’s swimming.
