Auditions for Brecksville Little Theatre’s Next Show to be Held Next Week
The auditions will take place Monday and Tuesday at the Blossom complex.

will hold auditions for its next production, Mister Roberts, at 7 p.m. on July 11 and 12 at the theater’s Blossom location.
The theater put on this show about 50 years ago, said director Judi Kaye – she remembers because it was the first performance she was ever part of. Kaye’s father was an actor in the production and Kaye, who was 11 or 12 at the time, spent time behind the scenes at the show.
Kaye said she was “really honored” to be chosen to direct this particular production. She wants to pay tribute to both the men in the show and those in the service, she said. She also hopes to recreate the set she remembers from her childhood.

The show takes place on a Navy cargo vessel during World War II, Kaye said. Mr. Roberts is anxious to fight in the war, but his assignment didn’t include that aspect of it.
“It has a lot of humor, but it also has a lot of sadness,” Kaye said.

Kaye said she needs 19 men and one woman for the production -- and she also needs someone to volunteer their goat for a part in the show.
Actors will have time at the audition to look over the script, Kaye said, and there isn’t anything they need to bring.
The production will be held this fall. For more details, check Brecksville Little Theatre’s website.
