Bees Softball Team Heads to the Regional Semifinals Wednesday Night

The game will be at the University of Akron.

The Brecksville-Broadview Heights girls softball team broke a record this year by winning more than 20 games.

“The girls have had a great year,” said varsity head coach Rex Mack.

The team has won 23 games total and is going for a 24th tonight against Willoughby South in a Division 1 regional semifinal. A win tonight would be “huge,” Mack said.

Mack said senior Kristen Lang has been an important player this year, adding that her “confidence and composure” has spread throughout the team.

“The kid works really hard,” Mack said. “She’s dedicated.”

The Bees have also had seven or eight underclassmen starting this year, which means the future looks bright for the team.

Wednesday’s game begins at 5 p.m. at the University of Akron. Mack said tickets are $6 if anyone wants to come cheer on the Bees. The team’s overall record for the year is 23-6.
