Out of an abundance of caution, the Cuyahoga County Fair Board has cancelled all swine exhibits, displays and competitions scheduled for the duration of this year’s fair, which begins today and runs through Sunday, August 12.
Based upon current events and the associated health risks, the Fair Board, in cooperation with the Cuyahoga County Board of Health, wishes to minimize the public’s opportunity for exposure to the H3N2 influenza virus.
The Fair Board has been, and will continue to be, in regular contact with the State of Ohio veterinary office and the fair’s onsite veterinarian to monitor all animal displays and buildings to assure the health and well-being of fair attendees.

Hand-washing stations are available at all animal buildings along with warning signs and informational postings about proper prevention methods.
As it does every year, the Fair Board continues to do its best to provide a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for all fairgoers, exhibitors, and employees. Your understanding of the decision made by the Fair Board and the Board of Health in the best interest of public health is appreciated.
