The board addressed a wide variety of issues, from pay-to-participate fees to a reflection on the year's objectives.

The Brecksville-Broadview Heights Board of Education discussed the , but that wasn't all.
There were quite a few items on the that the board addressed. Here are a few of them:
- The Board of Education approved the 2011-2012 middle and high school pay-to-participate fees. The fees are based on certain estimated costs for each program, like salary and mileage costs, said Karen E. Obratil, treasurer/chief financial officer for the district. The fees varied by activity. Families will have to pay 100 percent of these fees this year, Superintendent Scot Prebles said.
- Prebles discussed the board’s objectives for his first year, pointing out how each goal was reached. For example, one of the objectives related to creating a communication plan to better engage the community. The district responded by using more technology, like Twitter and video messages.
- The board also approved contracts with outside providers for specific services, approved bids for food services and renewed its membership in the SMART (Science & Mathematics Achievement Required for Tomorrow) Consortium and the Alliance for High Quality Education.
- The board approved the fee schedule for the 2011-2012 school year for preschool through 12th-grade students. The fees are paid by families at the beginning of the year for various materials, Prebles said. The fees range from $20 for high school students to $42 for some elementary grades.
