Brecksville-Broadview Heights Treasurer Headed to Nordonia Hills

The-News-Leader.com reports that Karen E. Obratil, the treasurer and chief financial officer of the , has been hired as the new treasurer in the Nordonia Hills school district.

Obratil announced her retirement from the . Obratil said that she’s been in the retirement system for 30 years now, 11 years with Brecksville-Broadview Heights, and it seemed like a good time to retire from the Brecksville-Broadview Heights schools. But she wasn’t ready to retire completely.

The Nordonia Hills school board unanimously approved Obratil’s hiring at its March 19 meeting, according to the district’s website.

Brecksville-Broadview Heights Board President David Tryon said in an email that the search for Obratil's replacement is underway, but no one has been hired yet.

Obratil’s replacement will start on Aug. 1.

Obratil’s new job in Nordonia Hills will also begin on Aug. 1, and she said she expects a smooth transition overall.

“It’s an exciting opportunity,” she said.
