Brecksville Honors its Senior Volunteers of the Year

The annual event took place Tuesday afternoon.

Sylvia Fowler and Robert G. Petrushka joined the list of local volunteers honored as the senior volunteers of the year earlier today.

After a lunch at the , Fowler and Petrushka were presented with a number of proclamations from the mayor’s office, the governor’s office and other government officials and with a clock from the Kiwanis Club of Brecksville

Mayor Jerry N. Hruby thanked both individuals for their service. He also thanked the other volunteers in the room, noting that Brecksville wouldn’t be the same without its volunteers.

“This city is such a wonderful place, and what makes it so wonderful is you,” Hruby told the crowd.

Previous years’ honorees were also recognized, along with Kiwanis members, City Council members and members of the Human Services Advisory Board. The awards are co-sponsored by the Human Services Department and the Kiwanis Club of Brecksville.
