Both headlights required
At 8:35 p.m. on March 10, an officer spotted a car on Interstate 77 with just one headlight and pulled it over. The officer smelled marijuana, and the driver, a 21-year-old Toledo man, said he didn’t know if there was any in the car.
There was. Police found a bag of marijuana in a shoe in the back of the car, as well as a duffel bag with $3,000 inside. The man said he was on his way to buy a used car. The driver was charged for missing a headlight and for possession of marijuana.
The license plate has to be on the car, not in it
Police pulled over a car on Chippewa Road at 7:37 p.m. on March 9 after noticing the car had a cracked windshield and was missing a front license plate. The driver, a 39-year-old Broadview Heights man, had the plate in his car but needed screws to install it. The man had a misdemeanor warrant from Garfield Heights, so police asked him to step out of the car. They then searched it, finding a ceramic cigarette for smoking marijuana. The man was charged with the missing license plate and for possessing drug paraphernalia.
