Driving under suspension and without proper plates:
An officer pulled a car over on Feb. 11 after noticing that the vehicle’s license plates didn’t appear to be properly attached. After speaking with the driver, Maureen L. Ross, 36, of Canton, the officer learned that she did not have a valid driver’s license. And after running the license plate number, the officer also learned that the car’s plates were registered to another vehicle. The driver and passengers said the car had been purchased recently from a friend.
The owner of the license plates was contacted, and the individual said the person the car was purchased from had been working on her vehicle in his shop and did not have permission to use her plates. Ross was charged with driving under suspension, using fictitious license plates and failing to properly display plates. She also had an active warrant in Garfield Heights and was held on that warrant.

A loud exhaust leads to other charges:
An officer stopped a car on Feb. 11 to tell the driver about his bent license plate and loud exhaust. The driver, William P. O’Donnell, 21, of Cleveland, did not have his license on him, but he did have a pipe and grinder for marijuana in his car. O’Donnell told the police he was “out” of the drug itself, though. Police also found that O’Donnell’s license was suspended, and he was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension and having a loud exhaust.
