Brecksville Police Blotter: Traffic Stops Lead to Charges

Police reports from Feb. 13 - 16.

Identification confusion:

A Brecksville police officer stopped a vehicle on Interstate 77 on Feb. 16 to ask about the driver’s lack of license plates. But that wasn’t the only identification the men in the vehicle were lackingβ€”officers later discovered that both were in the country illegally. There were multiple forms of ID in the truck with the men’s photos, but different names and social security numbers. The men were held at the station until one began to feel ill and was transported to the local hospital.

A Cleveland woman was charged with possession of marijuana on Feb. 13. Lauren S. West, 26, was pulled over shortly before midnight on Interstate 77 for missing a front license plate and rear lights. The officer smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle and was given permission by West to search it. The search turned up some of the drug, and West handed over some more at the station when she was advised that she would be charged if she brought anything illegal into the jail.

A Brunswick woman was charged with driving under the influence early morning on Feb. 13.Β  Jennifer A. Finch, 31, was pulled over on State Route 82 after an officer observed her vehicle weaving across lanes. She failed field sobriety tests and was also charged with littering for throwing what police think was a cigarette out the window.
