Brecksville Police Blotter: Various Counts of Drug Possession

The following incidents were reported by the Brecksville Police Department between Aug. 4 and 5. The information was compiled by police reports.
Possession of marijuana, paraphernalia
An officer pulled a car over for speeding on Valleybrook Drive at 3 a.m. on Aug. 5. While talking to the driver, an 18-year-old Brecksville man, the officer saw what he thought was a cigar wrapper and a marijuana stem in the car door handle. After questioning, the man also gave police a grinder with suspected marijuana residue that was in his pocket. He was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding.

Possession of marijuana
Waiting too long to switch lanes led police to discover marijuana in a 25-year-old Cleveland man’s car. Police pulled the driver over on Interstate 77 at 10:48 p.m. on Aug. 4 for changing lanes too close to another car. Police searched the vehicle, finding a small plastic bag of marijuana. The driver was charged with possession of marijuana and improper lane change. One of the passengers, a 23-year-old Cleveland man, was held on a warrant.

Possession of marijuana
Police pulled over a car on Interstate 77 at 1:07 a.m. on Aug. 4 after watching the driver travel in both lanes and nearly hit an orange barrel. The driver, a 27-year-old Akron man, told police that the owner, who was the passenger, did not feel well, and that’s why he was driving. The man had suspensions on his license and was charged with driving under suspension. Two small bags of marijuana were also found. The driver took responsibility for them, and was charged with possession of marijuana. He was also charged with driving in marked lanes and for the car’s tinted windows.
