Brecksville Receives Grant for New Human Services Department Vehicle
The 14-passenger vehicle will replace the department's old one.

The Human Services Department will soon be receiving a new vehicle for its transportation services at a much lesser cost.
learned that the city would receive funding for a new vehicle as part of the federally funded Specialized Transportation Program. Requests are overseen by the Ohio Department of Transportation.
The Human Services Department currently has cars, vans and a 14-passenger vehicle, all of which are used to to residents who are elderly or have physical challenges. The program will pay for another 14-passenger vehicle, and Director of Purchasing Becki Burlingham said in an email that it would replace the current one the department uses.

The vehicle costs about $50,000, Mayor Jerry N. Hruby said, but with the program, the city will only have to pay about $10,000.
