Brecksville Student Competing for a Chance to Appear in Teen Vogue
The contest ends on Friday.

One of Brecksville’s own is competing for a chance to appear in Teen Vogue – and she has her own sense of style to thank.
Sarah Staikoff is a 22-year-old college student now, but a few years ago, she was a Teen Vogue and fashion fan attending . She said she remembers when the “Snapshot” contest began—this year is the fourth—and she just decided to go for it this year.
Staikoff’s photo has made the top 10 finalists on the magazine’s website. According to the contest rules, a panel of judges made up of the magazine’s editors chose the finalists, and their decision was based on creativity and originality. The finalists were posted online in September, and the winner will be chosen by votes from readers. The contest runs until the end of the day on Oct. 7.
The winner will receive prizes, like a Coach bag, and a trip to New York for their own photo shoot.
Staikoff said her interest in fashion magazines started in 7th or 8th grade, and it became a passion of hers in high school. She gets most of her inspiration now from street-style blogs.
She’s been studying journalism at the University of Akron, but she plans to transfer to Kent State University and pursue fashion merchandising next semester.
