The members of Chippewa Garden Club held their annual holiday meeting and dinner on December 4, 2025. A delicious meal was catered by Antonio’s Broadview Heights Pizzeria consisting of a salad, garlic bread sticks, chicken cutlets, sausage/peppers/onions, rigatoni, green beans and roasted potatoes. A selection of yummy desserts was enjoyed from Stan’s Northfield Bakery.
Historian Margaret DeWolf presented her 2025 report of all the activities, programs and projects the members had done all year. CGC’s President, Lynne Evans, presented awards to several members along with the club’s special Blue Vase Award to Mary Jane Maloney for her stepping up to several projects throughout the year, and a Garden Club of Ohio Life Membership to Kathy Habib for her due diligence of a treasured treasurer.

Member Aggie Goss installed and gifted each of the seven 2026 newly elected Chippewa GC officers a beautiful wreath with colored decorations representing their club’s position.
Lynne Evans, President for 2026, presented her theme as “Mindful Gardening”, complementing with our GCO President Debra Turner’s theme of “Plant a Future”.
****FIRST meeting of the year will be Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Social starts at 6 pm and presentation “ Ohio’s Herbal Apothecary” by Geoffrey Rapp starts at 6:30 pm, with a short meeting afterwards. Geoffrey Rapp will discuss the medicinal value of some of the more common Ohio plants that surround us. He will also give us a brief history of how plants have been used for centuries for their health benefits and why they are so effective. Geoff is a retired scientist, teacher, and business executive, with a BS degree in biology and chemistry from Kent State University, and an MBA from Cleveland State University. Geoff is also currently the President of CauseMark LLC and founder of Fantastic Foragers.
Meetings held in the Gathering Room in the Brecksville Human Service Building, 2 Community Drive, Brecksville. VISITORS are always welcome.
