City Council Elects New President, Vice President

The election took place Monday evening.

Greg Skaljac will be City Council’s new president for 2012.

“Being elected to serve as council president by my fellow council peers is an honor and I am really looking forward to the challenge,” Skaljac said in an email. “I accept the responsibility that goes along with holding this position as well.”

Mary Scullin, the clerk of council, said council members elected Skaljac as their new president during a meeting Monday night in . was elected vice president.

“While we will face many challenges over the next year, I believe we will have some exciting opportunities to take advantage of that will benefit our city and its residents now and into the future," Skaljac continued in the email. "I will continue to foster the collaborative work environment that our council, Mayor and administration have enjoyed for many, many years. Brecksville’s future outlook is very bright and I am very appreciative to have the opportunity to be a part of our leadership for the future.”

Scullin said the rest of the agenda, which can be found , was approved as proposed.
