City OKs $20,000 Grant for CAPA
Brecksville City Council recently approved a $20,000 grant for the Community Awareness and Prevention Association for the 2012-13 fiscal year.

Since the partnership began in 1989, the city of Brecksville has supported the Community Awareness and Prevention Association, an organization promoting awareness and education about drug abuse.
Last week, the city kept the 24-year partnership going strong.

CAPA works in collaboration with the Brecksville andΒ Broadview HeightsΒ communities and school district to promote awareness and education about chemical abuse.
βCAPA provides guidance, intervention, and resources to those in need,β said council president Greg Skaljac in an email. βIt is a unique collaboration between the cities ofΒ BrecksvilleΒ andΒ Broadview HeightsΒ and theΒ Brecksville-Broadview Heights City School District.β

Itβs not just the city and the schools involved with the organization. The coalition is made up of parents, school and law enforcement personnel, business professionals, religious leaders, health providers and other community activists.
βTogether, C.A.P.A.βs members are dedicated to mobilizing at the local level to make the communities of Brecksville andΒ BroadviewΒ HeightsΒ safer, healthier, and drug-free for all residents,β Skaljac said.
