Free Concert This Weekend at the Brecksville United Methodist Church

The Merling Trio is scheduled to perform a concert featuring music written by Haydn, Piazzolla, Ravel, and Dumky.

This Saturday, the  will bring The Merling Trio to Brecksville as part of its concert series.

The Merling Trio is a nationally recognized ensemble. Joy Fenton, the church's music director, said the trio contacted the church about performing as part of the series. She said that after looking through their material, "it seemed a wonderful opportunity to bring them to the church."

The will be held at the Brecksville United Methodist Church at 7:30p.m. on Saturday. Everyone is welcome free of charge.

The Brecksville United Methodist Church can host the concerts for free due to some successful fundraisers. The fundraiser for the concert series for this year was an evening of music and Salsa dancing.

"The music board conducts the fundraiser independently from the church," Fenton said.

This is just one of the performances in this concert series. There will be a variety of music and something for all ages to enjoy.

"The concerts are a wonderful opportunity to bring high caliber music to the community," Fenton said.

The concert series is in its third year and continues to grow.

"The music director, Joy Fenton, looks for music groups to come every year," Office Manager Melanie Smith said.

She, with the assistance of the music board, then decides on who will perform in the concert series.
