Frugal Family: Deals for Pets

Pets don't usually do their own shopping, but here are some deals around town that you can let your furry friends know about.

Deal: In addition to comprehensive veterinary and grooming services, they offer boarding in their newly-remodeled kennel. If you board your dog with them, you can sign up for "The Beagle's Nest" for $15 per three-hour session. The "Nest" is a large playroom where dogs can socialize with other dogs and get their exercise, while being supervised.

2. Biscuits and Belly Rubs 

Deal: They offer full service pet sitting, dog walks, pet taxi and house sitting. Owner Miki Ross said that each 20- to 30-minute dog walking visit costs $16, and for regular customers the cost is $200 per month. See the website for more information.

Deal: Owner Aja Tompot said that her store in Broadview Heights offers a variety of all-natural pet foods and treats for cats and dogs. They recently began offering pet grooming, as well, starting at $15 for a small dog bath.

Deal: They have several recipe books for making dog food, dog biscuits and more. Some titles that I found include: Raw & Natural Nutrition for Dogs by Lew Olson and The Organic Dog Biscuit Cookbook by Jessica Disbrow Talley.

Deal: Save 15 percent on pet costumes when you shop online. And according to the website, shipping is free on orders $25 or more. They even have a bee costume for your dog.
