Get out and enjoy the wonderful weather, while we've still got it.

It’s late summer and time to get out with the family for a last hoorah before the fall weather kicks in and the homework gets serious. Here are some ideas for outdoor activities going on in and around Brecksville.
1. Brecksville Concert on the Square
Deal: According to the Brecksville Bulletin, Redneck, Inc. will be playing the final, free Concert on the Square of this summer. According to the band’s website, they play a mix of their own music and covers of popular country songs.

Deal: Celebrate The International Year of the Forest with a free summer hike in the forests of Brecksville. This 2.5-mile guided hike will take you through an oak-hickory forest, among others. See the program guide for the Cleveland Metroparks for more information.
Good Until: From 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Aug. 20, starting at the Brecksville Nature Center

Deal: According to the schedule of events for the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, everyone is welcome to the Boomerang Extravaganza. Dave Boehm of the Cleveland Boomerang School will be there to help out beginners. Boomerangs are provided, or you can bring your own.

4. Civil War Reenactment, Broadview Heights
Deal: The website for the City of Brecksville lists a Civil War reenactment as part of their bicentennial celebrations. This free, family-friendly event will feature a civil war reenactment, old-fashioned games for kids, a baseball game and more.
Good Until: Aug. 20 and Aug. 21 at the Broadview Heights city complex
5. Ledge Pool, Cleveland Metroparks
Deal: For a $5 donation, visitors can bring their friendly dogs to swim at Ledge Pool. There will also be a dog fair, exhibitors, vendors and a dog-walk, according the Metroparks' website.
Good Until: From 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Aug. 28 at the Cleveland Metroparks Ledge Pool and Recreation Area in Hinckley
