Get to Know: C.A.P.A.

Brecksville Patch will help you learn more about the people behind the city's departments, institutions, organizations and businesses.

C.A.P.A, a community-based coalition focused on substance abuse awareness and prevention in Brecksville and Broadview Heights, is in the midst of a name and image change. The organization had been known as the Chemical Abuse Prevention Association and recently changed its name to the Community Awareness and Prevention Association.

Some members of C.A.P.A. met earlier today to discuss the organization’s future. Check out the video to hear what Kelly Lazar, C.A.P.A. project director and coordinator, and Patrick Gallagher, a coalition member, had to say about the change after the meeting. Gallagher is the owner of Horse Power Productions and is helping the group create its new brand. The changes, including a new logo, will be rolled out in upcoming months.
