Giving Back in Brecksville

We want to hear your stories about volunteer efforts and projects in Brecksville.

One of my favorite things to write about has always been volunteer efforts and community service projects. Those types of projects help to connect communities. They’re also just inspiring to report and--I hope--to read about.

I’ve already had quite a few chances to do that in the first three months that Brecksville Patch has been around. Patch’s focus on volunteers and on giving back to the community was something that .

Our volunteer page keeps track of all of those stories of local individuals giving back. You can also learn more about our Give 5 programs there (basically, that means that if you have a project where you need an extra pair of hands, email me) and peruse local volunteer opportunities

But volunteers may not always be vocal about their projects, and that’s where I need you to step in. If you see a local group, from our safety forces to elementary school students, giving their time to a good cause, let me know – especially if there’s a way for others to get involved. Local organizations in need of volunteers can post a call for volunteers directly from the volunteer page. If you need volunteers and need help posting, you can get in touch with me at rachel.abbey@patch.com.

So let Brecksville Patch lend a hand to local volunteers. I’m looking forward to hearing more about the great ways people in the community give back.
