Introducing Dispatches: A Series on the Changing American Dream

Today, Patch is launching a new series called Dispatches: The Changing American Dream. 

Across the country, there are signs of the many ways this dream is shifting and evolving. It’s a reaction to the lingering economic recession, to the changes in the housing market. It can be found in debates about the nation’s debt, our changing political parties and how we educate our children. 

And the American dream means different things to different people. For some, it’s focused on home ownership. For others, it’s job security or educational opportunities. 

At Patch, we want to delve deeper into those conversations and find out how these changes are impacting each and every one of our communities.  

There are signs of these changes in Brecksville. We’ve seen state cuts in funding to our , the and the . We’ve listened to conversations on how to . 

These are the types of stories that will make up the Dispatches initiative in Patches across the country. And we’ll need your help.
