Marijuana Possession and an Unpaid Bill: Brecksville Police Blotter

The following incidents were reported by the from March 20 to 23. The information was compiled from police reports.
Not quite dining and dashing, but close
On March 23, reported a diner who had not paid for her meal in February. The woman in question left a check for $40. When the restaurant tried to cash it, they were told the account was closed.
The smell gave it away
Police pulled over a car with darker than average windows on Interstate 77 at about 3:48 p.m. on March 20. The officer smelled marijuana when stepping up to the car and asked the driver and passenger if there was any in the vehicle. The passenger, a 41-year-old Cleveland man, handed over a small bag. Police also found a partially burnt marijuana cigar in an ashtray in the car. The passenger was charged with possession of marijuana. The driver was just cited for the window tint.
Police find marijuana after an accident
A 20-year-old Parma man was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a minor car accident on Brecksville Road just before 12:30 p.m. on March 20. The officer was writing a citation and smelled burnt marijuana. After asking a couple of times, the driver handed over a small bag of marijuana and some rolling papers. Police found a marijuana cigarette in his pocket and some more rolling papers under the seat. The driver said he hid them after the accident.
