Morning Study Sessions Planned at the Middle School This Year

The teachers at the want to make sure students get all the help they need to succeed. 

This year, teachers will be meeting with students in the morning a few times every month, said Principal Patrick Farrell. 

The teachers have time set aside every morning before class starts to meet with their Professional Learning Communities. The groups of teachers work together to identify best practices and help students succeed. 

Farrell said the middle school teachers will be using their time to collaborate with other teachers, get professional development and help students. 

The school is planning to offer about eight to 10 of these days each month, he said. The days will be communicated to students; all they need to do to take part is tell teachers they will be attending. 

This week, teachers will be offering extra help for students in the following subjects:

• Tuesday: Math and social studies
• Wednesday: Specials, like art
• Thursday: Language arts and science

The sessions begin at 7:20 a.m.
