Photos of the Day: Hilton Students Honor Veterans

Normally, the “giving tree” at is covered in “Bee Bucks,” little coupons posted by teachers to highlight a student’s good behavior, said Principal David Martin.

But on Monday, it was covered with handmade stars adorned with the names of veterans students wanted to honor. There were quite a few mentions of grandparents and other family members, at least one with a photo, and some reflections on what the holiday means.

For , students worked on special programs in their classrooms, and some even had a visit from a veteran, Martin said. He said students were also working on thank you notes to veterans.
